The Santa’s Mask

I was never fascinated by Santas. For me they were some mascots who came around with chocolates and some gifts on the occasion of Christmas. We kids were smart enough to know that there was someone like us hidden behind the Santa’s mask. I always took a back seat when Santa arrived and I found it stupid of kids to run around that old man who had a fake laugh with a lot of over acting skills.   I always wondered what made Santa so special. My question was answered the day I experienced being one. The mask of Santa has a charm and this is experienced through the eyes of the Santa’s mask. The red attire sets your mood and the belly popping out makes you dance like a jelly. As I was dressing up I realized that I was ready to forget the person in me and bring out the hidden Santa. We all have the spirit of Santa but it was hard to believe that I had to wear the mask to reveal it. The attire has its own beauty. It gives you no identity except the identity of a Santa. The mask hides all your expressions. No matter you laugh, cry or get suffocated inside the mask, the good old man keeps smiling all the way to Calvary. Being there with the old and young at Mother Theresa’s home changed my attitude towards the joy of giving. You never lose anything in life because you never had anything to lose. So give all that you can. When I saw the old and young running towards me all I had to do was open my arms and embrace them. They loved Santa, they didn’t love me. In other words I felt the love and warmth with the eyes of Santa. Today I know the magic of a Santa’s mask. So are you ready to be the next Santa ???
