It was the morning after Easter Vigil. I was seated on my bed looking outside my window. In a couple of minutes I saw a woman pass by. She looked like my friend Nadine who stayed on the first floor. She was carrying two bags and was eagerly looking forward for someone. I was curious and so I walked outside my room and kept watching her go upstairs. She seemed lost. Now that I was in the quadrangle I saw her stand outside Nadine’s room. By some means I managed to get her attention. As soon as she saw me I said, “You are Nadine’s Mom?” and she said, “Yes”. I ran up the stairs and as she came towards me, I gave her a hug and cried for almost a minute. I thanked her for coming over all the way from Goa to Surprise Nadine. That mother’s hug took away all my pain and anxiety. It felt like my mom embraced me. And when Nadine saw her, she had no words except, “Mom, what are you doing here?”. I so much wished if my mom landed up in the hostel to surprise me, the way Nadine’s mom did. If given a chance in the future, I would definitely go to surprise my daughter. One magical hug from a friend’s mother made my day. She also got yummy cakes, sweets and loads of love. Across the world you will experience a mother’s heart speaking the same language. Likewise, the warmth of her love is felt in her every hug. Hug your Mom and tell me if I am right or wrong.
